The Punchbowl Supperclub Series
The Punchbowl, it is a name which is typically met with ‘you mean Madonna’s ex husbands old place’ – yes, that’s the one.
Since changing hands to its new owners some two years ago, this gastropub has had a real change. The cosy fire in the back is still there,but, there has been a launch of a 1st dining room. Mini MOG and I loved our visit late 2014.
The most recent general manager, Ben, invited me in to sample the newly launched – supper series Autumn 2015- what a treat!! A concept including welcoming drink, mini masterclass and a three course dinner. In the company of fellow diners, in ‘The Club’ private dining room.
We were treated to a thirst quenching Sipsmith cocktail, a masterclass from former Mayfair butcher, Allens & three stupendous courses.

Crispy lamb shoulder on a bed of seaweed, mint yoghurt, lambs lettuce
Roasted stuffed saddle of lamb with pomme dauphinoise, seasonal vegetables & lamb jus
Lemon posset with a super citrus’y shortbread.
We brits do run out of different things to do during the winter months, so this is a perfect addition to the Mayfair foodie scene.
A fabulous night was had by all & a most definite recommendation for a winters evening; ‘m excited to see who the future collaborations are with!
