Moggie headed on over to Cocktails in the City on the opening night, Thursday night, having convinced a few girlfriends to join me in the absence of team MOG.
Situated in a beautiful, beautiful venue, we soon felt at home, collecting our guide and complimentary cocktail token, dropping our coats & bags into the cloakroom (£2 charge) and heading into the basement.
The basement is filled with the edgier One Mayfair, bars such as cahoots and labels like Makers Mark- a fun atmosphere, plenty of seating and R&B music.
Once deciding on our complimentary cocktail, from Hush- The Angel, we headed upstairs to find that bar, situated at the alter. A fabulous location to take in the surroundings, dance to the super cool DJ’s sounds- I can’t explain them, but, we all loved them & and be sure to spy out Novikov, Gaucho and upstairs Little Red Door.
We also treated ourselves to the food on offer, Chorizo & Avocado sub roll, Pulled Beed sub roll & Mac/Cheese pasty- all made freshly on site, but, I would advise eating before heading over!
Feeling cocktail-ed and filled with sub roll energy, we headed up to the 1st floor, purchasing a token on the way (tokens = cocktails– £7/£7.50 per token) mezzanine level- another perfect viewing spot with bars serving Uluvka Vodka alongside Patron Tequila on one side & Paris’ Little Red Door on the other. We opted for the Seasons of Luv, from Threadneedle Bar at Royal Exchange.
For the smokers 😉 We recommend the roof-top bar & BBQ. This space was uber full when we visited though, with a completely different vibe.
Have a fabulous night and don’t forget to visit the near-by Mayfair restaurant favourites– Roka, North Audley Canteen, The Mayfair Chippy & of course The Beaumont Hotel
