Arguably, one of the wealthiest (no, not the wealthiest) neighbourhoods in London, Brexit as affected Mayfair differently.
International visitors are still visiting, staying and shopping.
Residential purchases are still taking place, albeit, not so many and there are slight concerns over who will purchase these new £££ homes- previous buyers, using London as a base to take advantage of its EU status, access to schooling and medicine throughout Europe. So, who will the new buyer be? Will they ironically be ‘Europeans’ deciding to take the leap and make London their permanent home, or will purchases be made purely on an investment basis, as is common.
What is clear though is that Mayfair’s workers, residents and businesses owners will all be individually affected by the ‘divorce’
