The New Royal Academy of Arts #RA250

Monday, February 5, 2018

In May 2018, the RA is celebrating its 250th birthday by opening a completed redevelopment at their home in Mayfair. The transformed RA will offer an expanded exhibition programme and new, free displays of art and architecture across the campus for visitors year-round.

Designed by the internationally acclaimed architect David Chipperfield RA and supported by the National Lottery, a new cultural campus will connect the RA’s two buildings, Burlington House on Piccadilly and Burlington Gardens.

We can’t wait to explore the new galleries when they open – especially the free displays which will provide public access to the RA’s unrivalled art collections. Visual artist Tacita Dean will inaugurate the new Gabrielle Jungels-Winkler Galleries with an exhibition on landscape.

With all this excitement about the redevelopment and the launch of the much-loved annual Summer Exhibition, there’s a lot to look forward to at the RA this summer!
