Leaves Bond Street after 140 years

Wednesday, February 28, 2018

This month, London’s Fine Arts Society announced it is selling the lease on its Bond Street home where it has championed artists including Sargent and Whistler for 140 years. FAS has resided at the five-story townhouse at 148 New Bond Street since 1871.

The move follows the exodus of many galleries from the Bond Street area in recent years due to soaring rents and competition for property in the area. The Fine Arts Society is currently looking for a new home.
