With the World Cup, Wimbledon, and Love Island dominating television screens this summer, I’ve been looking for a way to escape the noise and learn a new skill. It turns out I’m in luck as I’ve found the perfect antidote – an outdoor Painting Masterclass at The Connaught on Carlos Place.

The 3-hour session is run in collaboration with Green & Stone art store who provide the materials for your artistic experimentation, while British artist Alex Fowler takes you through the basics of selecting a site, advises you on composition, and teaches the skills of underpainting and colour application techniques.

Best of all, you will be given a hearty breakfast at The Connaught before venturing out into Mayfair to paint some of the finest spots in the area, including the beautiful oasis of Mount Street Gardens (one of my favourite places to spend a quiet moment during a busy week).
