Lock-down diary

Wednesday, July 8, 2020

Fortunately, I have been able to embrace this time as a little bit of a holiday from normality. A break away from real-life to breathe.

I, like some of you, could not imagine a day that you weren’t strolling through Mayfair and enjoying all it has to offer. It’s been somewhat of a blessing though, I think I had in someway fallen out of love with all that it has to offer. I simply took it all for granted.

We decided to approach quarantine in a measured way, I am not ashamed to say that I didn’t leave home for days at a time and it’s been absolute blast being able to cook it up in the kitchen.

I have so enjoyed, not leaving the apartment, not having to make unnecessary small-talk and enjoyed so many lounge-wear breakfast, lunch and dinner dates. Oh, and hanging out on our balcony swing chair post-work.

As the lock-down has lifted, I have found myself to become a little reclusive. I have yet to enjoy drinks in a bar or dinner in a club/restaurant.

I have been comforted to learn that I am not alone in my feelings. Did I mention that I have enjoyed fewer than 2 take-away coffees since March?

We have embraced the delivery/take-out culture more, and, are so excited to see that some over fave spots have embraced this offer too.

I can’t wait to be back out there, soon.
