London Fashion Week | Vegan Menu at May Fair Kitchen

For the period 17th to 28th February and in conjunction with being the official hotel for London Fashion Week, May Fair Kitchen  is offering a limited edition vegan menu, concentrating on two soups and three salads.

Tucked away in South Mayfair, moments from Berkeley Square/Green Park the May Fair Kitchen provides an oasis of calm away from the hustle of fashion week- I popped in this weekend.

Menu decisions were made quite quickly, the artichoke and fennel soup as opposed to the almond, onion and saffron soup with roasted tofu. With the Pomelo and avocado salad alongside, I had already enjoyed a pear salad  this week and am not a big cous cous fan, however, the rocket and pear salad or a vegetable couscous with berry pesto are refreshingly different to see on a hotel restaurant vegan/health menu.

The salad- pomelo, an often forgotten fruit paired with the avocado and goji berries make for the perfect taste combination offset by the subtly refreshing spinach.

The soup- as an artichoke fan, I was interested to see how the fennel would pair? A wonderful soup for a winters day with crunchy yum from the seeds.‎ After a few fairly unhealthy days, I declined the bread offering.

Both salad and soup were sized perfectly to enjoy together, rounded off with sparkling water and lime.

At a time when Vegan is still very much a growing trend within London, it is lovely to see the May Fair kitchen embrace this.

I left full of natural energy and goodness for the remainder of the day.

Just one request though, please please can we see the artichoke soup again soon?
