This week, the Royal Academy of Arts unveiled a new sculpture on Bond Street – yet another cultural landmark to appear in the area. The bronze sculpture of a horse and rider is by Royal Academician Dame Elisabeth Frink (1930-1993) and can be found on the corner of Bond Street and Burlington Gardens.
This is part of a £10m public works programme to improve the area which also features a much-welcome refresh to the roads and paving along Old and New Bond Street. The sculpture is situated in a new square which has been developed by New West End Company in partnership with Wesminster City Council, Transport for London, and the Mayor’s Office as part of this refresh.
We’ll be taking in the new sculpture as we wander around Mayfair Art Weekend…
