Sabor. It’s one of my favourite restaurants at the moment; definitely in my top 5; without a doubt, one of the hottest openings of 2018.
With Ex-Barrafina chef Nieves Barragan at the helm, the restaurant opened February 2018 on Heddon Street – admittedly, what can sometimes feel like THE most difficult place to meander to.
I just can’t help but return – with two menus; one for the counter/al-fresco/outside and one for upstairs. Think Barrafina, however, a little more rustic chic.
Pictured is the Mussels a la Bilbaina; heavenly, however, I also recommend all the croquettes, the artichoke, monkfish,
My favourite thing to do, is to visit at Spanish dinner time – around 9pm; when I’m almost guaranteed a table; and then to just order dish, after dish; sometimes two of one dish.
The wine list is quite the metropolis, however, the waiter also sommelier is brilliant at recommending something for all- be that by the glass, or the bottle. The house red simply can’t be beaten.
It is worth noting though, that a lot of the produce is fresh that day, and therefore items are frequently ‘sold out’
Overall, a fabulous setting for solo dining, group dinners, casual corporate dinners and leisurely weekend lunches.
